we attempted to fly an out & return european record to france.
borderline weather conditions (8/8 low clouds in the west) didn’t allow us to proceed safely so we turned back and figured the south east offered some great thermal conditions shaped by the NW wind.
Since we already had 300km by 9h loc in the morning, we figured, why not turn our big out and return plans for the west into a smaller out and return task towards croatia/bosnia… that worked out quite nicely! near austria we had 8/8 cover and rain which forced us to use the engine for the last kilometers.
Fun to fly with Felix Herold! He knows the Nimbus very well!

Philip flog am 12. Juni in einem Segelflugzeug der Type "Nimbus 4DM" 986 Kilometer. Er startete um 2 Uhr 46 am Flugplatz Wr Neustadt West. Sein Segelflug führte ihn nach Netting in Niederösterreich, dann nach Sankt Ilgen in Steiermark, Seewiesen, Eibiswald, Piringsdorf in Burgenland, Vrbanja (Kroatien) und Perestagen (Ungarn). Nach 12 Stunden 53 landete er in Wr Neustadt West.
Mit dem Flug konnte er den 1ten Platz in der Tageswertung der dezentralen Staatsmeisterschaft im Streckensegelflug erfliegen!
